From Sketch to Prototype

Concept Development

We will work with you to create a design specification – capturing all of the critical functions and features of your product/process idea and creating a living document that will be refined as the project develops. We will brainstorm potential solutions and list out pros/cons of various concepts. In the end, a report detailing these options and their relative ranking of success will be provided.

Prototype Lot

We can work with our vendor base to rapidly acquire the components necessary to build your prototypes. A small number of prototypes can be produced quickly to perform various tests and evaluations and check to the concept development information. As needed, the design specification can be revised based on the information learned or changes to the design can be identified that will increase the likelihood of success.

Design Validation Testing

From basic testing to dedicated test stands, we can identify the equipment required and develop a system to validate that your prototypes meet your design specification. We are experienced with developing electro-mechanical test equipment with data acquisition primarily using LabView as the programming language. After completion of the validation testing, we can verify compliance with all design specifications and revise the specification or redesign the product as necessary.

Pre-production Pilot Lot

Product Validation Testing

The final step prior to going to full production is to perform the design verification tests on a sample for the pre-production lot. This validates that using the production equipment, tooling, and material provides a product that meets your design specification and durability targets. By setting up this test plan in advance, we can smoothly transition your product from concept to production while insuring that the product will perform to the customers expectations.

Production Release

We can provide follow up service once your product is in the field to get feedback on the units performance. We can also monitor your production and field quality and use this information to make informed changes to the process or product to further refine your product.
